How we can help

We can help families with children under five in a number of ways. These include:

  • providing links to employment and training/education
  • arranging child care, providing play work and parenting support
  • helping to find benefit entitlement
  • providing access to emergency food vouchers.

We also provide a wide variety of advice and support services to families.

Friendly advice - we provide someone to talk to for families that are in crisis or difficulty and we can accompany families on various visits or appointments. This includes helping to find advice for families with uncertain status. We are happy to provide an introduction to centre activities for interested families.

Networks of support - we help build networks of support among families, identifying small groups with common needs.

Professional help - we suggest relevant professional bodies or agencies that may be able to provide additional advice and support to families. We also provide links to trusts for equipment.

We offer a one to one visiting service for families with under fives who feel that they would like this kind of support and we are happy to work with you whether you have complex problems or just want to be introduced to our groups and services. All our staff have enhanced level criminal records checks in place and understand the need for confidentiality in their work.

When you ask for our one-to-one service, we will match you with a family link worker who will meet up with you to discuss your needs and will tailor what they can offer accordingly.
