Brunel Brass Band
Brunel Brass was formed in December, 2006 when the tutors and older members of the newly formed Great Western Youth Band wanted to establish an adult band that could perform concerts and compete in competitions against other brass bands.
The band is based in Swindon and rehearses once a week on a Thursday evening under the experienced Musical Direction of John Winterflood ARCM LGSM.
Shortly after being established Brunel Brass entered it's first competition, the 4th Section at the West of England Regional Championships in Torquay March, 2007.
With only ten rehearsals under their belt and being drawn 1st in a large field of 23 bands Brunel Brass were delighted with being placed 5th overall. Brunel Brass was established!
The prize winning band has since become one of most successful and talented brass bands in the Swindon area. In just 2 years the band has been promoted to the 3rd Section and is recognised for it's mixture of young talented players and experienced adults.
On Thursday evenings the Brunel Brass Band practice at St Andrew's Church and who would welcome new members.
