The New Central Library Story
Swindon's new Central Library opened 20th October 2008. Work started at the Regent Circus site in January 2007 with a construction contract worth £6.8million, out of a total budget of £10million.
The building was designed in-house by Council architects Nic Newland and Tony Currivan, and combines a modern, light and energy-efficient interior with a brick and stone-built exterior that complements the adjacent 19th century Town Hall.
