Our Mission
To empower, support and assist individuals and minority groups from the African Continent including Asylum Seekers, Migrant Workers and Refugees living in Swindon and Wiltshire to develop skills and values that are needed in the wider community and to support them to play a full part in the life of the mainstream community in Swindon and Wiltshire.
- Provision of learning support for African children/young people, and assistance to families in accessing relevant local services related to their children’s education by outreach service.
- Initiate partnerships locally and nationally.
- Facilitate exchange programs between schools and communities in Swindon and Africa towards meeting Millennium Development Goal 8, developing a responsible international outlook among young people, based upon an appreciation of their interdependence with other societies and the environment.
- To build the capacity and skills of young people so that they are better able to participate fully in society as entrepreneurs and equally act as peer mentors on sexual health issues and drug awareness programmes.
- Access to Health & Life style information, advice & support services: HIV/AIDS, Stroke, Hypertension, Alcohol misuse, Drug misuse, Smoking, Diabetes and healthy eating issues.
- Provide forums and opportunities where Diaspora can engage positively by sharing their skills and experiences in order to have some input in local initiatives and therefore some sense of ownership
- To start income generating activities such as social enterprise for sustainability of the organization.
- To promote research into economic and structural resources and the dissemination of the results of such research.
