St. Leonard's Church
A small congregation of Christians worshipping in a small church building which was founded in Saxon times (over a thousand years ago) and much altered since.
A part of a group of churches served by a team of ministers based around St Margaret`s Stratton St Margaret. We are in the Swindon Deanery of the Bristol Dioscesis.
Over the last few years our numbers have been boosted by young (and occassionally not so young) couples joining so as to marry here.
New people are always welcome here. We are happy to have you with us whether you are a committed Christian of any denomination, someone exploring faith, just looking or coming with someone else.
Our services involve singing songs (hymns) together, reading and speaking responses from a service sheet, listening to a talk and joining in or listening to prayers.

PEACE AND QUIET You are welcome to rest and reflect in the church building and churchyard. It is a wonderfully restful place for private prayer and contemplation. On weekdays (not during school holidays) you may find the building open. Should it be locked information is in the porch to enable you to get in touch with a key holder. We regret not being able to leave it open all the time, even though all valuable furniture and fittings are invisibly marked. The churchyard is a quiet ancient place with a special feel and views over the hotel grounds to Stanton Park and lake. JOIN US We welcome and need new people. This small village church needs more people .If you are thinking of returning to church after a time away for any reason; if you are moving into any area of, or near Swindon,; if you are searching for faith then this small friendly mainstream group will welcome you ,whether you come occasionally or regularly. |
