St Margaret's Pre-School
We are a friendly community-based group. Little Acorns are very relaxed and friendly sessions aimed at 2-3 year olds, whilst our Pre-school sessions are for 3 year olds up to school age. We aim to provide a safe, stimulating and caring environment for young children.
We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage which sets out guidelines for us to follow with the children. The EYFS celebrate the skill and competence of young children, and highlights the interrelationship between growth, learning, development and the environment in which they are cared for.
The six areas are:
- Personal, Social and Emotional Development
- Creative Development
- Knowledge and Understanding
- Physical Development
- Problem Solving, Reasoning and Numeracy
- Communication, Language and Literacy
These areas are all covered, whilst children are playing and interacting with each other and members of staff.
Our main aim is to make sure, that your child is always happy, stimulated and cared for in a relaxed environment.
If a child wants to bring in a comforter, and if he/she has a preference for juice rather than milk for snack time, then they will be encouraged to bring these items in to the session, to help give a feeling of security until he/she has settled in with us.
We as a group believe very much in giving the children the time and attention they need to settle in, to feel happy and secure with their surroundings and us, with the aim to progress confidently on to our Pre-school.
