Swindon Ten to Eighteen Project (STEP)
Providing therapeutic group work for vulnerable 10-18 year olds in Swindon and the wider community.
Programmes of activity, social skills and discussion groups for young people. Volunteer workers who have specific skills and are carefully recruited & trained to provide positive adult contact for young people experiencing difficulty. Committed to anti-discriminatory and anti-racist practice.
Ground floor venue for group work (excluding Penhill YC). Provision for transporting a folded wheelchair.
Times: 9.30am to 3pm weekdays. Groups 6-8pm weekdays & Saturdays 10am - 1pm.
Minibus transport provided in most areas of Swindon.
Working with Young People since 1984. Registered Charity no 291350.
STEP requires volunteers (aged 18+) to work with young people in groups - for 2 hours a week in the evening. We also need Management Committee members, as an alternative support to face-to-face working with young people. Meetings are 6 weekly. Please contact the project for an application pack.
