WEA: Workers' Educational Association, Swindon Branch
We are the local branch of a national educational charity, and have had a presence in Swindon since around 1909!
Currently we aim to run around five daytime courses a term in venues around the town, for adults from all backgrounds, typically at introductory level. At present these are painting and drawing, computing, digital photography and others subject to change.
Courses carry a fee, but are free to those on certain benefits.
Our office in the Health Hydro is staffed on Tuesdays from about 10 am - 2 pm. Messages can be left on the answerphone at other times, and will be attended to on Tuesdays.
Details of our courses are available on the national WEA website, and we publish a termly programme which is available on request from the office, and also in local libraries and information centres.
